What is hypochlorous acid?

Hypochlorous acid — often written HOCl — is the main ingredient in every Bihoclear product. It is a substance your own body makes naturally, and in skincare it is used in very small, diluted amounts. Below are plain answers to the questions our clients ask most.

What is inside each product

Questions our clients ask

What is hypochlorous acid (HOCl)?

Hypochlorous acid is a gentle substance that your own body produces naturally as part of its everyday defences. In skincare it is used in very small amounts, diluted in water, as a light and simple ingredient for daily routines.

What is inside Bihoclear products?

The main ingredient is pure hypochlorous acid (HOCl) in water. The Daily Rescue sprays use a 0.02% concentration. The formulas are deliberately short and simple — no added fragrance, no colour.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

The sprays are made for all skin types, including skin that reacts easily, because the formula is mild and fragrance-free. As with any new product, try it on a small area first.

How do I use the sprays?

Mist over clean skin whenever needed — morning, night, or anytime during the day. Let it air-dry. No rinsing is required.

How do I use the foam cleanser?

Pump the foam into your hands, massage over damp skin on the face or body for about 30 seconds, then rinse with water.
